How it works

One lot. One test. A record everyone can check.

Research vendors often buy from the same manufacturing lots. Testing each vial separately multiplies cost without adding information. The alliance tests the lot once, publishes the original report, and keeps a verifiable record of which members carry it.

For people verifying a product

  1. 1

    Scan or enter the code

Scan the QR code on the label, or type the ORA code or manufacturer lot number into the search on the home page.

  2. 2

Read the result and the original

The record shows identity, purity and net content as transcribed, plus the laboratory's original PDF.

  3. 3

    Confirm the vendor

A member's QR link confirms them automatically. Otherwise, enter their full business name or website on the record.

For member vendors

  1. 1

    Get vetted

The alliance confirms business identity, official website, and supply relationships before membership is activated.

  2. 2

    Join shared lots

When you stock a lot the alliance tracks, it's linked to your profile and every test on it applies to you.

  3. 3

    Print permanent links

Download a QR code for each record from the member portal. Add your own extra testing as vendor-submitted COAs.

Reading an ORA code

Codes use digits and capital letters, never I, L, O or U, so they read clearly on small labels. The four digits are the year and month the record was created. The last character is a check character that catches typos before you search.

ExampleWhat it identifiesMeaning
ORA-2611-K7F3AAlliance testA certificate of analysis the alliance commissioned. Shared by every member carrying the lot.
ORV-2611-Q8MZ6Vendor-submitted testAn extra report a member commissioned for their own product, reviewed before publication.
ORL-2611-R4T9MLotA manufacturing lot. Its page lists every test on that lot, newest first.
7KQ2QMember IDA member's permanent ID. Added to a link, it confirms that member against the record.

Links take the form openresearchalliance.ca/c/ORA-2611-K7F3A, or with a member ID appended, /c/ORA-2611-K7F3A/7KQ2Q. They never change.

Testing and record standards

What every published record commits to

  • Original documents

The laboratory's report is published unaltered. Values shown on the page are transcribed from it, and the PDF is authoritative.

  • Traceable identifiers

Every record shows the manufacturer lot, the lab's report or accession number, and the alliance lot it belongs to.

  • Nothing silently replaced

A corrected document becomes a new revision with its own SHA-256 fingerprint. Earlier revisions stay downloadable.

  • Honest status

Retests supersede older results with a forward link. Withdrawn records stay online with a notice, so a printed link never dead-ends.

  • Clear provenance

Alliance-commissioned tests and vendor-submitted reports are labelled differently and use different code prefixes.

  • Exact verification

Vendor checks match a full business name or official website exactly. There are no partial matches to guess a member list from.
